General Director of Forestry is in Norway for Ministerial Conference

The 6th Forest Europe Ministerial Conference on the protection of forests in Europe will be held on 14-16th June 2011 in Oslo, Norway. General Director, Mustafa Kurtulmuşlu, General Deputy-Director, İsmail Belen, several academicians and experts will attend the meeting. In the upcoming Ministerial Conference on Protection of Forest in Europe, to which we have been a signatory country from the very beginning, ministers responsible for forests in Europe will evaluate Forest Europe process, determine vision, goals and targets for Europe’s Forests for the coming decades and discuss important decisions, which are also importance for our country. One of the decisions to be taken is that Finland, France, Austria, Spain, Russia, Croatia and Turkey will be in the International Negotiating Committee, which is to kick off its works concerning a legally binding instrument in September in 2011 and terminate in December in 2013. Another decision to be taken is that Turkey will take part in General Coordination Committee established in the beginning of this process.
