MENA Project Steering Committee Meeting held in Avignon

On 4th April 2011 in Avignon, France, Turkey took part in the meeting with 11 delegations, which brought together general directorates of Tunisia, Lebanon, Algeria, Morocco Operational Planning Workshop of the Regional Project Adapting Forest Policy Conditions to Climate Change in the MENA Region was organized on 28th September- 1st October in Istanbul and the Steering Committee meeting convened on Monday, 4th April 2011 in Avignon. Several general directors from Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria and Deputy General-Director İsmail Belen from Turkey attended the meeting. Presentations of the participating countries were given by Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon and Turkey during the sessions and the Report of Turkey was presented by Turkey focal point Şenay Çelik. During the meeting, project programme officers and representatives of 5 countries exchanged ideas on cross-sectoral cooperation and defined the operational framework. At the end of the meeting, the proposals given by the participants concerning the activities to be done in the context of inter-country and cross-sectoral cooperaion were reported.
